Food Outlet: Mission Tortilla Chips 60 Cents!

Do you like Mission Tortillas? Then RUN to Food Outlet on Coliseum Boulevard and snatch up this deal. I don't know why they are so cheap but I love it! 16 oz bags of Mission Multigrain Tortilla Chips for 60 cents each! We usually pay around $3 for a 20 oz bag of the regular Mission Corn Tortillas chips at Publix when they are on sale.

The "best by" date on the bags we got is later in December. My mom has always frozen chips when she found a good deal and you could try that if you want to stock up, but we picked up a few bags and I am sure they won't go bad around here before they get eaten up. (Do chips really go bad?)

Weekend Roundup

I know I am sure glad that the weather is starting to cool down. I know I'm not the only one. I am looking forward to all the fall/halloween events that are coming up starting next week! I will be trying to get those on the calendar this week.

Saturday is the last day of Fire Prevention Week in the City of Montgomery and the last day to visit any Montgomery fire station for fire safety tips and other helpful information. The training is free and open to the public each day, October 7-13, from 10 to 11 a.m. and from 2 to 3 p.m. at all Montgomery fire stations.

Saturday is also Kid's Day at Lifeway Christian Stores. From 11am-1pm, kids will enjoy a free screening of the new VeggieTale's DVD "League of Incredible Vegetables," crafts, snacks and other treats including free coloring books while supplies last. Parents will enjoy special discounts.

Reminder: Register For Lowe's Build & Grow

This Saturday is another great FREE Build and Grow Clinic at Lowes. If your children are going to attend, you need to register early to reserve a kit and a space, because this one looks like it might be pretty popular.
Partcipants also receive a free apron, goggles, project patch (now, they are iron-on, Hooray!) and certificate.

It starts at 10 am, but we have found that it's best to get to the clinic a few minutes early to get a seat.

FREE Child Safety Seat Inspection Saturday

If you are expecting soon or you have a child in a safety seat, it's important to have it properly installed.

Let the experts with Safe Kids USA install or inspect your child's safety seat for FREE Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m. to Noon at The Shoppes at EastChase near Earth Fare Organic Grocer. Call 334-269-2343 to register.

Target: 70% Off Dollar Spot & Deal on Crib Sheets!

Found some good deals at Target today!

The Dollar Spot had lots of items on clearance at 70% off! (Specifically items with Pink Dots and Orange Triangles. Look near the upc code for the symbol.)

Some items that I found where:
School supplies:
Reward Stickers
Calculators
Notepads
Flashcards
Workbooks (0.30)

Organizational items:
Hanging shoe holders (0.90)
Hanging sweater holders (0.90)
Folding boxes
Expandable file folders
Expandable coupon holders (0.30!)

There were several things that would make great stocking stuffers (if you don't have the kids with you when you buy them, like I did.)

I always check the prices as at scanner before I get to the register to avoid any problems.

I also couldn't resist this deal:

Buy a Circo Crib sheet on sale for $9.49 use the $5 coupon available at Target.com under the "apparel and accessories" section in the coupons to get it for only $4.49. (The sale is only through today, and I would print the coupon quickly if you think you might use it because good coupons on Targets website tend to disappear.)

This would make a great baby shower gift. There are lots of neutral colors. Remember the crib sheets fit toddler beds also.

You could also get a two pack of Pack and Play sheets for cheap with the coupon, too!

Weekend Roundup 9/7-9/9

As I type this, it is pouring down rain outside my house (surprise!). I am crossing my fingers that Ballet & The Beast will still be able to go on tonight, because it's one of my favorite free events in the area. But I will checking weather.com right after I finish this. Because we might be changing our plans. We surely won't be taking blankets for the show even if the weather does clear. (Something to think about-don't want wet behinds.)

Also, Saturday is the last Second Saturday Festival for the year. Did you get to go to any of these? What did you think of it?

Don't forget Grandparents Day is this Sunday, in case you didn't get anything, you can take the kids to Michael's on Saturday for the Make It Take It Frame for the Grandparents. What Grandparent doesn't love a frame for the kid's pictures?
