Swagbucks-How Do I Love Thee?

Have I ever told you guys about how much I love Swagbucks? Oh, I haven't. Well. Swagbucks is my favorite way to pay for things like Christmas and birthday gifts and books. Swagbucks is a website that allows you to earn virtual currency just by doing the things that you would be doing anyway, like searching the web or shopping. There are other ways to earn Swagbucks too, like watching videos on Swagbucks TV, taking polls or answering surveys.

You earn Swagbucks and then use them in the Swagstore to purchase items or gift cards to places like (my favorite), Starbucks, Sears and CVS- to name just a few. Personally, I earn my Swagbucks and order Amazon gift cards with them. I use the Amazon gift cards to buy books for our homeschool and also toys and gifts for birthdays and Christmas. (You really can buy just about anything from Amazon-even groceries!)

The easiest way to earn Swagbucks is to make the Swagbucks home page your home page. Then use Swagbucks to search just like you would use Google or Yahoo search. I earn around 20 Swagbucks every day just from searching things that I would already be searching anyway.  (Earn-more-Swagbucks Tip: I don't click on shortcuts to get to websites. I go to Swagbucks and search for the sites that I am headed to like Facebook or Gmail. Sure, it takes an extra few seconds but I earn Swagbucks.)

(Bonus! Earn-More-Swagbucks Tip: Sometimes a verification code pops up when you win Swagbucks and you have to enter the letters in order for the Swagbucks to count. Pay attention, because you don't want to miss out on Swagbucks because you didn't enter the code.)

I also earn Swagbucks every day for answering the Daily Poll, using the Swagbucks toolbar, taking surveys, clicking through the NOSO (no obligation special offers) or completing offers like ordering books or signing up for Netflix (which I also love.) (You don't have to spend any money to earn Swagbucks. But if you are looking to purchase something online, you could earn a lot of Swagbucks by going through Swagbucks to purchase it.)

Sometimes there are codes that you enter on the Swagbucks home page to get bonus Swagbucks. These codes are usually posted on the Swagbucks Facebook or Twitter profile.

If you would like to give it a try, go here and sign up. It's easy! You can sign up using many of the popular social networks or just regular sign up. I would love if you would use my referral link, you get 30 Swagbucks to start and when you win Swagbucks from searching I will get matching Swagbucks (only up to 1000.)

I will be posting some more info about Swagbucks in the near future that will help you win more Swagbucks. But if you have any questions about how Swagbucks works feel free to post here or on the Facebook wall. I would love to answer your questions and help you earn lots of Swagbucks!

Too Much Halloween Candy?

Are you tired of hearing, "Can I have another piece of candy?" or maybe you want to make sure you don't eat another Reese's cup.

Here are a few options for "magically" making all those artificial colorings, sugars and flavorings disappear (besides the trash can.)

Trade your your kid's candy for cash at the dentist office.
In our area Montgomery Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics and Prattville Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics are buying candy. Take the candy to their offices between 2-6 pm on Friday November 4th. They will weigh the candy and pay $1 per pound (up to 5 pounds per child.) Children wearing a costume get a bonus $1. The candy will be shipped to the troops overseas. For more info see

Trade the candy for prizes and healthy treats at Earth Fare
Take the candy to the service desk at Earth Fare now through November 5th.
1-50 pieces gets you a goodie bag (I wonder what's in it?)
100 pieces gets a Itty Bitty Bites meal
500 pieces gets a Itty Bitty Bites lunchbox.

I just had my son count and my kids have only 91 pieces left. (I guess we ate more than we thought last night.)

Pack it up.
If you are packing a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child, don't forget that all those lollipops, hard candy and gum will be great to include with the other gifts in your shoebox. Your kids might even part with it easier if they know it's going to some other kid that doesn't have much.

I used to save the best for us and the kids and send the rest to work with my husband. This year, we'll be eating the chocolate and most of the rest will be going in our Operation Christmas Child box.

What do you do with all the candy your kids get?
