River Region Family Halloween Weekend Activities


FYI: Montgomery, Prattville and Wetumpka are all suggesting that trick or treating be done on Halloween night (October 31.)

Friday 10/28/11

10 am Wetumpka Public Library Preschool Story Time: Trick or Treat at City Hall

10:15 am El Lowder Regional Branch Library Storytime
13 Days of Halloween by Carol Greene
Activity: Halloween Bags
Don't forget to wear your costume!

4-6 pm Prattville Downtown Candy Walk
Streets will be closed so the downtown businesses can begin passing out candy to toddlers-2nd grade children. The line-up begins at City Hall at 3:30pm and the event is from 4-6pm.
AFTER the Candy Walk, bring the whole family out to the FREE movie under the stars behind City Hall on the Creekwalk, the Halloween classic, Casper, will be showing on a 25ft inflatable movie screen. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Food vendors will be on site.

4-7 pm Bass Pro Shops It’s The Great Pumpkin Event
Trick or Treating, Crafts, Photo with the Great Pumpkin, Hallowen Parade

6-8 pm Michael's Halloween Clay Pot Event
Design your own clay pot creations. Make It Take It with purchase of clay pot.


Saturday 10/29/11
11am-2pm Michael's Halloween Event
11-Noon Create Trick or Treat Duck Tape Pail or Totes with purchase of pails
Noon-1:30 pm Free Face Painting
1:30-2 Halloween Parade

Noon-3 pm Toys R Us Geoffrey’s Halloween Parade
Kids get a FREE SpongeBob Halloween bag, Parade led by Geoffrey every half hour, and FREE Giveaways *Event intended for children ages 3-up.

1-4 pm Bass Pro Shops It’s The Great Pumpkin Event
Free Crafts, photo with the Great Pumpkin, Marshmallow Roasts

6-8 pm Trick or Treating at The Shoppes at Eastchase
Pick a pink pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, have your photo made by the Studio at EastChase, enjoy inflatables, trick or treating and much more. (Keep in mind everything out there costs, except for the trick or treating.Stores that are participating will have a sign on their doors.)

Sunday 10/30/11
1-3 pm Michael's Halloween Crayola Pumpkin Patch Event
Free Make It Take It. (ages 3 and up, while supplies last)

1-4 pm Bass Pro Shops It’s The Great Pumpkin Event
Free Crafts, photo with the Great Pumpkin, Marshmallow Roasts

5-6:30 pm Saint James UMC Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat
9045 Vaughn Road. Inflatables, candy, hayride and more.

4:30-6 pm Frazer Trunk or Treat
Frazer Parking Lot and Soccer Fields Trunk or Treat is free and open to the public. Inflatables and games, concessions will be available for a small fee. No scary costumes.

6:30-8 Frazer soccer fields
Free showing of the animated movie “Rio.” Bring your own chair or blanket.

Monday 10/31/11
4-7 pm Bass Pro Shops It’s The Great Pumpkin Event
Trick or Treating, Crafts, Photo with the Great Pumpkin

5-7 pm Aldersgate UMC Fall Festival
6610 Vaughn Road. Trunk or Treat, Games, prizes, crafts, hayride, inflatables. Free. For information call 272-6152.

6-8 pm Taylor Road Baptist Church Treats The Town
685 Taylor Road, next to Shoppes at Eastchase. Inflatables, face painting, games, candy, balloons, free food. Kids will love walking down TREAT STREET.

6-8 Vaughn Forest Baptist Church- Forest Festival
Inflatables, candy, games, prizes, snacks and more!

6-8 pm Fall Festival at Mulder United Methodist Church
3454 Firetower Road, Wetumpka. Fun for the whole family. Free hot dog supper, hayrides, inflatables, games with prizes, candy and face painting. For more info call 567-4225.
