Back To School Bootcamp at MCCPL

Back To School Bootcamp at the Juliette Hampton Morgan Branch Library is August 8-12th from 10 am to 4 pm. This is completely FREE including lunch, but you must register. Registration is this Thursday 8/4/11 at 6:30 pm in the auditorium on the second floor.

Each group has a different track. K-5 will have sessions on Sight Words, Tumble Books, using the library's website and databases, Stanger Danger, how to find Science Fair information, Dewey and Research. Reading Comprehension, Bullying, Arts & Crafts, Story Time, putting pictures on papers with the computer, Fire Safety, Stories & Imagination, Techniques of Story Telling and writing, Publishing your 1st book and a concluding celebration.

There will also be some separate programs for the K-2 crowd during certain sessions including: Math Hop Scotch, Sidewalk Games, Recognizing and Counting Money, Alphabet Game and Manners/School Ettiquette.

Grades 6-8 will have sessions on Preparing for Success to Make Perfect Grades, Staying in School, Social Studies, Kids in the Kitchen, How to Use varying databases for different academic subjects, Cyber Bullying & Bullying, Games Systems & the Internet, Self-Esteem & Sexuality and a concluding celebration.

Grades 9-12 will have sessions on Drivers Education, School Violence, Tips for ACT/SAT Test, Fitness and Education, Hisotrical Research, Personal Safety, Plagiarism, Publis Speaking, Reading Comprehension, Internet Safety, Alabama High School Graduation Exam, Reading Like a Writer, Dating Violence, Time Management for Writers, Writing and Grammar, Test Taking & Study Sills, Tobacco Prevention, Substance Abuse and a concluding Celebration.

Lunch is provided each day by various community sponsors.
