River Region Weekend Activities Roundup 5/7/11 Mother's Day Edition

Michael's The Knack Clay Pot Event Make It and Take It. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. With purchase of clay pot. Create something handy for mom to hold her jewelry. Make a clay pot jewelry holder for Mother's Day. While supplies last. Ages 3 and up.

Prattville CityFest 7 p.m.
2011 Opening Ceremonies and Street Dance with Tip Tops. Free Admission Friday Night..

Saturday 5/7/11
Home Depot Kids Workshop 9 a.m. to Noon
Kids can build a Tullip Planter for Mom. Free.


Lowe's Build and Grow Clinic at 10 a.m.
Kids can build a heart flower vase for Mom. Free.

Michael's Paper Event Free Make It And Take It. 10 a.m. to Noon. Create a custom scrapbook page for Mother's Day. Ages 14 and up. Free.


Herb Day at Old Alabama Town 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Free.


National Astronomy Day at W.A. Gayle Planetarium. Doors open at 5 p.m. Free.

Prattville CityFest 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Admisssion $2, Military $1, Under 5 Free. Arts and Crafts, Entertainment, Kid's Activities-inflatables, pony rides, petting zoo and more. 

Montgomery Museuam of Fine Arts Flimp Festival  10 a.m to 2 p.m.  Admission $5 for adults, $3 for kids, Free for Active Military.  Festivities include art making projects, artist demonstrations, music, food and a lot of FUN!

Mayfest at the Montgomery Zoo 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission charged. Join Booker T. Washington School and The Montgomery Zoo for a day of fun filled activities, live entertainment, Food, games, gift items, and 40 acres of Zoo Wildlife

    There is also a benefit show being put on by Superior Wrestling at the Warehouse in Eclectic Admission is $8.00 and kids 6 and under are free. ALL proceeds will go to the disaster relief fund for local tornado victims . It will be family friendly so bring the kids and enjoy the show!!
